Not long ago, small differences in theological beliefs would have divided different Bible believing churches. The racial unrest that we are experiencing, the political polarization and the Coronavirus Pandemic, have magnified many differences, but in one Midwestern community, churches are coming together despite their differences to show one another, and their neighbors, support.
The Seed to Oaks Neighborhood 360˚ Assessment manager, Gregg McMullen, is serving alongside a few churches in Cincinnati who made the decision to put aside some minor theological differences and take on an assessment together to love their neighbors. These churches are partaking in a Neighborhood 360˚ Assessment cohort that they are praying, catches the interest and commitment of additional churches in Cincinnati. Their hope is that one day, every local church with know the hopes and needs of their community, because every neighborhood in Cincinnati will have been reached by a Neighborhood 360˚ Assessment. Gregg recounts, “I was reminded of Ephesians 4:12-13 which says, ‘we are to equip the saints to do the works of service… until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.’ Gregg is proud of the work that the churches have begun in Cincinnati.
It’s a beautiful thing when we choose to focus on God and work together to build His kingdom.
