Communications Manager - Reports To Manager of Programs

Job Purpose and Overview

Seed to Oaks is looking for a self-motivated and talented Communications Manager to establish our internal and external communications, through graphic design, social media content creation and original material creation. The Communications Manager will be charged with producing high-quality content that engages media, stakeholders and partners, while building brand recognition.

The Seed to Oaks Communications Manager will create informative and engaging content, press releases, articles, blog spots, podcasts, and media opportunities to share the Seed to Oaks brand, events and programs. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, with brilliant presentation, and organizational skills. This role will evolve as we experience what is needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must create a communications plan and a content calendar
  • Plan, design, and produce internal and external communications, and materials, for Seed to Oaks, ensuring the message is clear, consistent, and engaging
  • Establish (in some cases) and maintain Seed to Oaks’ Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, YouTube, Instagram and other relevant social media pages
  • Use the Seed to Oaks branding and style guides, Canva and Adobe InDesign; design flyers, manuals, layouts for printed materials, and event invitations to events
  • Create interesting press releases, newsletters (in Infusionsoft), social media stories, web stories and blogs (in WordPress) and related marketing materials. Seek media publication for Seed to Oaks’ events
  • Create communication and marketing strategies for Seed to Oaks’ launches, new developments within programs, events, and promotions
  • Develop and implement effective designs and communications strategies that build Seed to Oaks brand awareness and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare detailed media activity reports
  • Create communications request form. Respond to design and communications issues in a timely manner

Qualifications and Skills

  • Believer in Jesus as Savior
  • Member of a local church, attending regularly
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Journalism, or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field
  • Proven experience creating targeted content
  • Strong knowledge of writing, social media, and graphic design practices and techniques
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and design skills
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and multitask
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills, meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly computer literate (Mac) with capability in email, MS Office, Adobe and Canva
